Mobile Medical Unit

The Kamloops Mobile Medical Unit is a high-risk remote worksite medical unit that provides immediate treatment in case of emergencies. It is maintained and operated by the general requirements of OHS Regulations. The unit is equipped with certified first aid supplies as well as emergency response equipment to handle any situation that may arise on site.

 Mobile Treatment Centers

Our mobile treatment center is a small medical unit that can be mounted on a standard truck or 4×4 vehicle. The unit is equipped for mild treatment and can stabilize patients who are seriously injured and is for emergency transportation. They have Level 3 Professional First Aid (OFA)  medical personnel who can respond immediately to any medical or traumatic incident that occurs in the field. These units are equipped with advanced communication equipment such as mobile phones, GPS units, and handheld radios, and meet communication standards  even at the most remote locations. It can also be used as a changing room, first aid room, and, if necessary, an emergency transport vehicle (ETV). Our team can monitor 24-hour operations with rotating first aid personnel and vehicles.

First Aid Attendants

We offer three levels of certified First Aid Attendants to meet the needs of different operations, each with its own unique set of skills and training.

Medical First Responders have the skills to assess patients and provide them with assistance. These professionals have a minimum of 40 hours of training, which includes comprehensive first aid and CPR skills to ensure that they can assess patients effectively.

Level 3 OFA personnel are trained to treat complex injuries and quickly mobilize patients in stressful situations.

Emergency medical responder is recognized by the Paramedic Association of Canada, which can provide basic life support and preclinical care.

All three levels of attendants are vital in ensuring the safety of employees and providing proper medical care in the event of an emergency. Placing the right level of first aid personnel on the scene can mean the difference between life and death.

Why is a mobile medical unit important?

A mobile medical unit is a specially equipped van, truck, or trailer that brings health care services directly to patients in their homes or workplaces. These units are deployed with medical professionals who can provide a wide range of services, including primary care, mental health counseling, and case management. Mobile medical units are an important part of the healthcare system, especially in rural areas and in poorly serviced communities where access to care is restricted. By bringing medical care directly to patients, these units help improve access and quality of care.

What issues can a mobile medical unit address in Kamloops?

Kamloops is an example of a community that can benefit from having a mobile medical unit. Mobile medical units can provide the care needed to workers injured at work. In addition, the mobile medical unit can also provide preventative care, such as vaccinations and safety training, which can help reduce the number of on-the-job accidents. As such, the mobile medical unit is an important resource for companies operating in remote and hazardous locations.
